| This is an Issey Miyake designer dress with a very recognizable signature pleated design. He is regarded as one of the most visionary and avant-garde designers of the century and this dress is a work of art to wear. I have tried to lighten the photos to reveal the pleating and detailing but the dress is much nicer in person. The entire dress has wide vertical pleats and the bodice has a fold over flap at front. Zig-zag stitches keep the pleats down the center of the body flat, and in contrast to the pleats opened up and filled out by the curves of the body. It is tagged size M and is difficult to measure but will fit 35/36 inches at bust, waist is 28/29 inches and hips will fit about 38/40 inches. I would have guessed this to be about a modern size 8 or perhaps 10?. It is 60 percent poly and 40 percent silk and is in excellent condition. |
